MÁV reported on its Facebook page that on Sunday afternoon, a man had been hit by a train Badacsonytomaj and Badacsonytördemic-Szigliget stops.
An express train (9796) that left Déli railway station for Tapolca on Sunday at 17:05 hit a person between Badacsonytomaj and Badacsonytördemic-Szigliget stations. Trains were not be allowed to run between the two stations during the site investigation.
Passengers of the express train were transferred to a replacement bus with the help of disaster management staff.
During the time of the scene investigation, instead of the passenger train (9761) departing from Tapolca to Balatonfüred at 9:34 p.m., between Tapolca and Badacsonytomaj, and instead of the express train (9708) departing from Déli pályaudvar to Tapolca at 7:05 p.m., a replacement bus had to be used between Badacsonytomaj and Tapolca.
Trains could run on the North-Balaton line between Badacsonytomaj and Badacsonytördemic-Szigliget at 10:40 p.m. The investigation has been completed.
