The Disaster Management announced in a statement late in the evening that they had managed to stop the spread of the fire.
They say that the flames spread over an area of approximately 8 hectares, affecting seven buildings, including two residential buildings. Three gas cylinders also exploded during the fire, but the firefighters managed to remove one from the flames.
Following the work of more than a hundred professional and volunteer firefighters, all that remains now is the elimination of the parts that are still glowing.
The firefighters were called to the Akó vineyard on the Patacs hillside in Pécs because of a stubble fire, but then the situation turned much more serious.
