The government would extend the emergency period until next fall

Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén submitted the bill to László Kövér. The extended effect of the government decrees related to the emergency period would be the 15th day after the beginning of the autumn session of the parliament. The rationale for the proposal is that the new virus variants are spreading across Europe and are also present in Hungary, so increased protection is essential.

A 2/3 vote in favor is required to pass the bill.
